II. Reasons Wavy Hair Becomes Loose
Being a wavy haired girl myself, I always feel that one day after washing my hair, it becomes loose. After a lot of research, I came to know about the following reasons-
1. Overuse of Products-
Using too much styling product can weigh down wavy hair, leading to limpness. Thinner or wavier hair types are particularly susceptible to this issue. It’s advisable to use a small amount of product. Also, do not layer your curls with multiple products.
2. Using Heavy Products-
If you are styling your curly hair by applying heavy products which contains ingredients like silicones, waxes and oils it will create product buildup and also make your wavy hair look dull and flat.
3. Weather Conditions-
Weather has a great effect on wavy hair. If you live in a humid weather, chances are your wavy hair will grow double in size. On the other hand, if your hair is dry ingredients like humectants can pull moisture from within the hair, leading to dryness and limpness.
4. Hormonal Changes-
Hormonal fluctuations—such as those experienced during pregnancy, menopause, or due to birth control—can alter hair texture and curl patterns.
5. Damage from Heat-
If you use too much of heat styling on your hair, chances are that it weakens your hair strand and also alter the natural texture of hair. Therefore, limit the use of heating tools.
6. Aging-
As you age, your hair becomes mature. Matured or aged hair loses elasticity and also moisture retention capabilities. This can lead to thinner strands that are less able to hold a wave or curl shape.
7. Environmental Factor-
If you live in an area with lot of pollution and dust, chances are your wavy hair will become dull and lifeless. Factors like pollution and hard water, impacts hair health and loose the curl definition.
